McBeath Organ Trio

Derek Duleba (guitar) - Mentored by Chicago jazz greats Kelly Sill, Ron Dewar, Art Davis, and Andy Brown, Derek is a former student of renowned guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque. While earning a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University, he also completed an undergraduate certificate in Philosophy of Education studying eastern philosophy and its integration with education. He is looking forward to earning his Masters in Music from Northern Illinois University this Spring. Derek has shared the stage with many Chicago jazz luminaries including Jeremy Kahn, Dan Trudell, Chris Foreman, Art Davis, Russ Phillips, Eric Schneider, and Andy Schumm, among others.

Erik Opland (bass) - Erik grew up in a musical household as the son of CSO bassist Bradley Opland. He is currently the bassist for the band Fay Ray and is a production assistant for WFMT. Erik is most known for his time as a lifeguard at the Lighthouse Beach in Evanston where he would wrestle with sharks. During the summer massive crowds would gather each weekend, most times Erik would win.


Andy McBeath (drums) - Chicago musician Andy McBeath received his Bachelors in Percussion Performance from the University of Illinois and his Masters in Percussion Performance from New York University. Currently, Andy is the percussion instructor and assistant band and orchestra director at Lake Forest High School and organist at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington. In addition to his classical studies, Andy has studied West-African drumming with Moussa Bolokada Conde, Balinese Gamelan with I Ketut Gede Asnawa, Afro-Cuban drumming with Marvin Diz, and steel pan with Josh Quillen. Andy is from Batavia, Illinois where he would frequent Ream’s Market after visiting his Grandma who still resides in Elburn. He thanks the Old Elburn Hall for the opportunity to share his music.
