Event Horizon Jazz Quartet
The Event Horizon Jazz Quartet is a Chicago-based group that has been performing since 2014. Reedman Jim Kaczmarek, keyboardist Scott Mertens, bassist Donn DeSanto, and drummer Rick Vitek have played with some of the biggest names in jazz and pop and are regulars on the Chicago music scene. Their debut album, Event Horizon, is a collection of 11 original compositions written by Kaczmarek or Mertens. Several of the songs on the album were featured on the Music Choice cable jazz channel.
